Humming noise boilermate 2000 Help !!
Hi
Can anyone help. I have recently had my en suite refitted and had new everything including a heated towel rail to replace the radiator. I am constantly hearing a buzzing or humming noise and it gets louder when you have it on number 3 on the primary return to boiler pipe. I did speak to the man who fitted the en suite and he said just turn it down to number 1. I asked him what he had done as I have never had this noise before and I should not have to turn anything down to get rid of noise that I did not have before. He said he only turned the water off so it can't be him. Please can someone advise what has happened here or what he has done as the noise is driving me crazy!
Thanks

Re: Humming noise boilermate 2000 Help !!
This has to be air-related. The bathroom bod almost certainly will have drained then refilled the system to change/move the radiator so I think he is perhaps being economical with the truth.
Hard to know what to suggest beyond making sure the system is properly filled with water. It sounds to me as though the boiler circulation pump is fully airlocked. The nosie they make when airlocked is just as you describe.
Try loosening the big silver screw in the centre of the pump head. You should get water out. If you get air, let it all out until water appears.
Hope that helps,
Mike

Humming buzzing noise from Boilermate 2000
Hi
Thanks you for the help and advice. I checked the boiler circulation pump was not airlocked and loosened the big silver screw in the centre of the pump head . Unfortunately this did not remove the humming/buzzing noise.
I have noticed that there is vibration coming from the primary return to boiler pipe but do not know what has caused this or how it can be fixed. Any advice on this would be greatly received as I have a constant buzz/humming noise in my head!
