Spare parts/ flue seals
Is it possible to get these? British Gas have capped our boiler off as there was a leak in the seal on the elbow joint in the flue. Now they say they can't fix it as they can't get parts (60ml elbow joint seal) so we'll need a new boiler! Seems a bit disproportionate, does no one make these any more??

Re: Spare parts/ flue seals
Have you a part number?
Gledhill list 2 parts
GT 250 O ring 126 x 6 mm
Gt 191 Seal- Gas Exhaust.
Whether these are the parts or could be I do not know.
But I would think the above are internal parts.
You could try speaking to Gledhill Technical
And Gledhill spares.
Just to confirm etc.
If they have not got the parts you require.
They may know someone who has some.
But I have heard of this before and on this forum.
Try searching and see if anyone on here found an answer.

Maybe found a spare!
Thanks Mike! I've spoken to a company called Atmos Heating Systems today who say they have a 60m seal which should be fine with the flue. They have a technical guy who can confirm each details, but I'm not a gas fitter, so don't have the knowledge unfortunately.
What they said was it is just down to finding a registered gas fitter who is comfortable with the part and will sign off the repair. I notice you are Berkshire based, if I can't find someone, are you able to take a look? Would be interested in your thoughts on whether you think this is a viable option, or if you are able to help, or recommend a gas fitter to talk to?
Many thanks

Re: Spare parts/ flue seals
Wrong Mike.
I am based in Norwich.
You will I think struggle to find anyone whom will fit the parts which you have found.
Yes they may be fine.
But it is dodgy ground for the person who fits them and sign it off.
I would try looking for an engineer who works or will work on the Powermax range.
They may be willing to help you.
Have you spoken to Gledhill ?
As in Spares?
As in the Tech guys.
As in Gledhill Response?
All may help or point you in the right direction.
