Can anyone tell me if the PHE Sensor actually controls anything or is it just a temp indicator?

The PHE sensor controls the hot water tap temperature by modulating the speed of the PHE circulating pump and hence the rate of hot water from the heat store passing through the plate heat exchanger. This video gives some idea of what is going on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP5-i_vi1Pw&t=15s it works in conjunction with the DHW sensor in controlling tap hot water temperature. Regards Murray
