Leak from near the gauge on the upper tank Empty Leak from near the gauge on the upper tank

Hi after first use there was a leak from the upper tank water gauge.
The ball bearing was higher than recommended.
When we removed some water the leak seems to have stopped.
Is that the cause please?

You mean plastic sight gauge on the top tank?
If so.
Then empty tank.
Remove plastic gauge carefully.
Dry etc.
Refit using silicone sealant.
Refill tank. NOT too much.
You can mark the level with a marker pen.
When fully heated the ball may rise.
When hot water used and unit cools the ball may fall /drop.

If the plastic gauge is broken.
As a stop gap
2 bolts and 2 washers 2 nuts and 4 rubber washer would seal those 2 holes
