Gledhill PulsacoilIII repairs
I'm an electrical contractor based in Sheffield who is regularly called to repair Gledhill Pulsacoil hot water heating systems in a block of flats. Last week I was called in to a system in an empty flat which had had the heating system switched off for a year and had no hot water. I suspected it was the pump and fitted a replacement. Because the system had been switched off I couldn't test by running the water to see if it got hot. However I left it switched on and asked the owner to call the next day to tell me if he was getting hot water. He did call, and yes, he was getting hot water BUT he still felt that there was a problem as he could hear a pulsating sound from the pump and it appeared to be running continuously. On my initial visit I measured the voltage at the pump and obtained a fluctuating voltage of approx. 80V to 120V. I am returning tomorrow to investigate further. I have the temp. sensors in stock. Any suggestions?
