Boilermate III - Hot water but NO central heating
Hi Mike,
We have a Potterton Suprima 40 boiler with Boilermate III thermal storage in our property. The boiler was locking out several times a day which was pinned down to a faulty PCB and was replaced yesterday. Boiler fires fine now and we're getting scalding hot water but the central heating wont turn ON (thermostat set at 24 C). Grateful if you could shed some light on the problem & happy to provide more info if needed.
Thanks
Edwin

Re: Boilermate III - Hot water but NO central heating
Hello Edwin,
The Boilermate III is the most complex of all the Boilermates and there are a number of possible reasons for this. I'd need to see it to find out for sure. Here are a few possibilities:
1) Heating is set to OFF on the timer on the front of the Boilermate
2) Temp control on boiler not set to MAX
3) Room stat is broken
4) Store sensor has fallen out of its pocket
5) Control board on the Boilermate has failed
6) Diverter valve on the Boilermate has seized
Did the heating engineer who changed the board go upstairs and do anything to the Boilermate? Have you told him the CH is no longer working? What did he say?
Cheers, Mike

Re: Boilermate III - Hot water but NO central heating
Thanks Mike
Temp control on boiler NOW set to Max - left midway by the engineer who replaced PCB and central heating is now ON. Thanks again for your help.

You are a star Mike
I'm still retaining the BM3 'animal' knowing that you are around to fix it if it goes crazy (I live in Reading & you fixed the heat exchanger plate early last year).
Cheers,
Edwin
