Loud screeching noise!!!! Please help
I've recently moved into an apartment where the water system had been drained. I turned the system on and after about 30 mins a loud screeching noise started coming from boiler and a red light was flashing. I pressed reset and it stopped the noise and the light went out for about 20 mins and then came back on with the loud screeching noise. I have since filled the tank as I have seen that the noise may have been caused by the water being low. However the red light has gone off but the loud screeching noise remains and is constant.
Any ideas what this could be and how to repair?

Hi,
Sounds like you have been running the pump dry, try venting the pump may possibly need replacing.
Kind regards

Thanks Gary, to vent the pump do I just simply undo the screw in the middle of it whilst everything is switched off?
Sorry if its an basic question but im pretty new to this.

You can remove the screw whilst it is running have a small old towel to hand to catch any water.
