Oh good grief, isn't the Pulsacoil 2000 frustrating?

Our new-build flat in west London (about six years old) has a Pulsacoil 2000 boiler. For the past couple of nights, at around bath-time, it's refused to provide any hot water at all. By morning, the hot water supply has returned.

Here's my other problem; I know about the existence of a "boost" switch, but there are three switches in the airing cupboard and I don't know which is which. My experiments with trial and error, leaving each one off overnight, have not yielded anything. In fact, they've just meant a cold shower each morning.

One switch is almost at floor level and has a red LED. There are two switches just above waist height: one has no LED and has a cable running down to the floor. The other has a red LED.

I've left all three on at all times ever since moving in about six months ago. Until now, this has provided a constant supply of hot water on demand, but our electricity bills have also been pretty high (between £350 and £500 a quarter,and we have electric radiators, the Pulsacoil 2000, and electric cooker/hobs)

Tells you how to use the switches. Sadly I can't tell you which switch is which without seeling the appliance, but you may be able to figure it out from the sheet. Or call me when you are at home in front of the appliance.

The unpredictability you mention suggests heat sensor failure though. I'm happy to come to West London to change it for you and explain the switches if you wish :-)
