DIGITAL CLOCK PROGRAMMER Empty DIGITAL CLOCK PROGRAMMER

Post  seandev Mon Jan 03, 2011 1:25 pm

Hi Mike,

Have purchased a Grasslin digital clock from Ebay, was looking at replacing my mechanical clock for this one.
Question - 1. Is it straight forward to do ie connections like for like?.
2. or am i better just keeping my mechanical clock which works fine?.
Any advice please.

Sean.

DIGITAL CLOCK PROGRAMMER Empty Is Grasslin controller neccessary?

Post  Phillip Tue Jan 04, 2011 6:39 am

Hi,
I've also been looking into replacing the analogue timeclock on my BM2000, and was wondering whether there was any reason you had to use the Grasslin xb216 controller listed in the manual, or whether any single-channel 7-day digital controller would be OK?

we have a BM2000 running on a potterton suprima gas boiler.

The reason being, the Grasslin one seems quite expensive for what it is - nearly double the price of lots of others. What I really want to be able to do is boost the heating for an extra time or advance it so it'll stay on until the next designated switching in the standard programme, which the analogue one won't do.

Obviously the advantage of the Grasslin one is that it fits in the hole in the front plate and connects the same way, but otherwise is there any reason why it has to be that one?

Any advice would be great,
Thanks,
Phillip
