pulsacoil lll overheating all the time
Hi im an electrician who has been called out to look at a fault on a pulacoil lll. The first time I went to the property there was no water so began to have a look at the electrical side of the heater. A electrician had all ready been out and took out the off-peak timer and connected to a permanent supply through a standard time switch. This was connected to just the one immersion heater (the bottom). Anyway i noticed there was power to the connections for the circuit board but no power at the immersion heater. I then noticed a reset button which i pressed and the immersion began to heat the water, brilliant i thought. 4 months have now past and i have been called back as the overheat button keeps switching off. Im guessing its a fault with a thermostat as there are no stats on the immersion heaters themselves. Could someone please give some advise as i dint know where the thermostat is or where i would buy one from. Also the off peak/on peak timer is there a model commonly used with this heater, thanks for looking Lee.

Re: pulsacoil lll overheating all the time
hi mate not done much on these pulsa coil 3's but think they have seperate rod stats? i think gledhill might do a retro kit to replace the rod stats with ones that have resettable stats built in and get rid of the big red resettable overheat stat, as for the timers, any immersion timer will do, they are usually connected to an economy tarriff so it just replaces the timer really. let me know if that helps, might just be a old overheat stat which has come out of calibration.
Check before you buy
Hi, Check the overhead tank to see if you have the right amount of water in the system. If there is no water in the header tank it could be overheating. You can request a guide which goes over this in more depth by clicking this link -> Pulsacoil Repair
If you just want to buy the parts the visit this link -> Gledhill Pulsacoil 3 Spares
