Hi,

This maybe a bit off topic, but any advice is welcomed.

I have a 3kW immersion heater on a central timer. My timer is broken, so I plan to fit one locally.

I intend to replace the switch (image below, circled red) with a timer unit, such as:

My question - is this a correct specification? It is 13A, but I just thought I'd check first.

I would leave the switch as is.
And put a Timer after the switch.
Also find one rated at 16 amp.
The one you posted I don't think will last very long.
Keep away from the Grasslin timers.

i agree with mike but make sure you get a proper timer, i fit the immersion timers from screwfix made by lap, and always use heat resistent twin and earth flex. If your not doing it make sure the engineer or whoever you have employed to undertake the task is properly qualified.
