Still no hot water despite visit from MK Group
Hi,
Originally we had no hot water in our Pulsecoil 200 boiler. We called out MK Group and was advised both immersion heaters would need replacing plus changes to a value all totalling around £700! The red led light was back on blinking as normal.
One month later, hot water come on and then just cold water. Occasionly hot water may come back but mostly just cold water. We have checked but all the LED lights are off but the boiler unit is warm and hot. We have contacted MK Group and were advised most likely no elctricity running into the boiler but then the unit is always warm so how can it be and what else could be wrong?
The water level in the tank is fine. We are worried now as we don't want to be hit with another few hundred pounds of bill plus labour costs when in fact it should of been working at the first time when we called MK Group.
Many thanks

Re: Still no hot water despite visit from MK Group
£700:00p does seem a lot.
Was it just for 2 heaters. Or other works too?
The unit needs to be hot not warm to work ok.
You could have a sensor problem or the DHW pump and or pump drive PCB.
BUT,
You can go a few years having no repairs and then have a few things go wrong in a few months!
How far away are the MK group from you?
Where are you located?

Hi Mike,
We are located in East London (Essex). I think MK Group cover most of London and Essex but we are just worried that they will hit us with another bill. I think they changed both upper and lower immersion heaters last time and offered 12 months parts warranty but they say it might not be related to those parts and could be something else. However this should have been picked up when the first visit took place if everything was tested ok.

No you are wrong
There are many parts in those units.
All because you have a few parts replaced it does not mean that others will not go wrong later.
As you stated it was ok for a month.
If the unit is hot then it is unlikely that it is related to them.
IF the unit is not hot it could be a supply problem.
Gledhill may cover your area and if they do may give you a fixed price repair. Which means they will mend it what ever the problem.
And they may include a full parts and labour breakdown cover for 1 year too.
With the option of renewing every year.
Remember this, you can have your car MOT done.Next day it would fail.
You can have anything serviced or repaired and it can go wrong days later.
4 new tyres and get a puncture, the list goes on and on.
In my part of the world your bill would not be £700:00p but London prices are different.

I recommend the following
Check the sensors : PHE sensor & DHW sensor. Then check the pump & PSC (Most people call the PCB) but it means Pump Speed Control
Re: Still no hot water despite visit from MK Group
Pump speed control PCB
Any board with components fitted is a PCB
Printed circuit board.
Nice to see some one answering some of the posts.
Even though some go back date wise a fair bit.
