Very low hot water pressure
Hi,
I had a problem with my shower mixer unit, so I turned off the water heater (pulsacoil A-Class) at the switches (both on peak and off peak) and turned off the mains water supply at the stopcock.
Having refitted the shower mixer unit after fixing it, turning the mains water supply back on, and turning on the water heater, I currently have very low hot water pressure to all the taps in the building. I assumed (hoped) it would just take time to come back to full pressure, but it's been two days now and still no pressure.
Cold water is fine and working at full pressure (not sure if relevant, but the pressure gauge on the pipe reads about 5-6 bar)
I am completely stumped as to why the hot water pressure won't come back!
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks,
Dan

Re: Very low hot water pressure
Pulsacoil A class/
Pressure gauge?
5 to 6 bar is very high!
If there is a Y type strainer fitted inside the PC A class.
I would check that as it has a filter inside.

Re: Very low hot water pressure
Hi Mike,
It is a Pulsacoil A Class L2.
The pressure gauge isn't part of the Pulsacoil unit, it is just attached to the cold water inlet pipe that leads into the Pulsacoil unit.
I've checked the guage again, it currently reads 5 bar.
I think there is a Y type strainer underneath the plate heat exchanger, so I'll take this off and check the filter.
Will let you know how it goes!
Thanks for the help.

Re: Very low hot water pressure
What was the problem eventually? after my tenant played around with the timer, then all the hot water taps and shower in the flat stopped dispensing any water (not even cold water) i.e. 0 water pressure. Is there any circumstance this could be a fault of the Pulsacoil A Class boiler or is it more likely the plumbing going into or coming out of it (in which case I can get a plumber to look at it as opposed to a pulsacoil specialist). boiler feels mildly warm suggesting the heaters are working fine and there's hot water inside it.
Flat is based in Vauxhall London SW8 2JA. if anyone around the area wants to take up the job for less than what Gledhill repairs charges
NOTE:
All Cold water taps run at full pressure.
