replace pulsacoil 2000?
Hi all,
for years i have had problems with my PC2000, replaced pump DHW sensors, etc. never really worked correctly, and looks like this morning its totally given up.
top immersion heater is dripping slowly, with the foam slightly green.
the plate exchanage slight limescale build up, possibly from leaking immersion heater?
pump sticking.
pump dripping if screw is removed
bottom immersion heater green limescale.
top up tank empties out fairly quickly.
buzzing sound.
lots of different red LED flashes, appears to be no real patten.
i have not replaced the shel immersion heaters, looking around possibly £80 each.
not sure how to drain system if i had too.
looking at the price of a BP120 around £720 i guess another £100 for install, am i better off to replace it out right? i know you guys cant give exact answers, but advice would be greatful.
apartment has 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom and en-suite, 2 people living in it.

Re: replace pulsacoil 2000?
Hi
You have listed a number of different items, most of which are not great problems, with the exception of the comment that "the top tank empties fairly quickly". This tells me that the unit has suffered an internal failure resulting in an internal water leak that is unrepairable, and the unit will have to be replaced.
Having two bedrooms, a bathroom and an ensuite would make the BP120 an INCORRECT choice of unit to replace it with. You should be looking at the BP150 or BP185.
As for your estimate of £100.00 for the install, from my own companies charges I would say you are way out.
Depending on where you are located, we would be charging somewhere in the region of £1536.00 inc vat for a supplied and fitted unit, installed to the current regulations and standards.
Hope this helps.

Hi
thanks for your reply. guess i was hoping to get it done for less than £1000, looking to sell the flat soon, so really dont want to spend that much money.
i have found a BP150 for £830 inc vat delivered, just need someone to install it now, i live in SE18.
