Economy 7 or timer?
Hi
We have a Pulsacoil A Class and currently don't have economy seven so the boiler is on constantly.
My question is should we have a timer fitted so we can have the boiler switch on and off when we want ie coming on for 2 hours before we need a shower etc or have economy 7 fitted? The economy 7 would only benefit the boiler operation and a fridge freezer?
Any advice should be greatly appreciated
Richard

Re: Economy 7 or timer?
E 7 is 7 hours half price.
Use the bottom heater and heat the unit up, it is very unlikely to be on the full 7 hours
You can use washing machine and tumble dryer too on timers.
Sometimes E 10 may be available which give 3 hours during the afternoon.
Just to add Thermal stores need to be fully charged with heat to be economic.

Mike
Thanks for your very swift supply!
OK, so I'll look into economy 7/10. Am I right in saying that we just need the new meter to be fitted to get the full advantage of the tariff? Will the boiler need to be rewired at all once the econmy 7/10 has been fitted?

Re: Economy 7 or timer?
All depends on what you have installed.
Down load the manual from Gledhill website.
And check out the section ref E7 etc.
That should explain it.
