No running water through the hot tap. Heating fine. Airlock. Stuck!
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone familiar with the Boilermate 2000 might be able to point me in the right direction as I'm pulling (whats left) of my hair out.
I changed the radiator on the ground floor after draining the system and after I turned the mains supply back on the hot tap doesnt run at all. The heating works but no water. I initially thought it might be the DHW pump but am I correct in saying that its only used to heat the mains cold feed via the heat exchanger?
My hot water was a bit temperamental and intermittently went cold, which I assume is scale on the heat exchanger which I was due to replace, but I'm at a loss as to why im not getting ANY water. I've put it down to an airlock or that somehow the plate heat exchanger has scaled up or blocked and stopping all flow.
Am I warm? (pun intended!)
Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Brad

Re: No running water through the hot tap. Heating fine. Airlock. Stuck!
SOLVED - UPDATE!
As it turns out, I'm an idiot! I ran all the taps and got a little bit of air and no joy, but completely forgot about the shower, which is at the highest point. Turned it on, lots and lots of air for 15mins and eventually running water. This is obvious to a professional or someone with half a clue, but thought I'd post back just in case someone else in the future did the same thing

HUGE AIRLOCK
I was a bit premature on my last post. I left the taps running for ages and water is coming out the shower (very slowly) and intermittent and trickles/spurts out the other taps randomly. Some are not coming on whilst all the taps are open then trickle/spurt when I shut the others off. There's definitely an airlock. I've searched the forum and many others but can't find a solution. I can't see any way to drain the 'hot' pipes/supply. I've seen the technique of running the cold feed through the hot tap using a hose at a sink to clear it but would that work with the Boilermate as it doesn't vent due to it coming off the mains in the first place?
Any ideas?
