Boilermate II water pump change
Firstly, this looks like an ideal site for me at the moment ;). Your time is appreciated.
My water circulation pump is failing and I've check the valves in prepartion for the repairer tomorrow morning. Unfortunately the valves are leaking with the disturbance. Is the only cure a Boilermate drain down to replace the pump and valves? and should I be concerned about the potential of a blocked cold feed, is it common?
Many thanks.
<edit> I should mention that I've read the info too.

Re: Boilermate II water pump change
Can anything be inserted into the cold feed during the drain process to ensure it doesn't block?
Thanks

Re: Boilermate II water pump change
The local heating repairer turned up today and didn't have the spares. British Gas are due to come on Wednesday but I wanted to sort it out earlier, before I go away with work. The pump bearings are reasonably noisey now and the electrical connection seem 'touch and go'. Could this all be attributed to the failing pump and would it be reasonable to expect it to last a few more days?
Apologies for the flood of questions..........
Many thanks.

Re: Boilermate II water pump change
All sorted now. I managed to bind the valves with tape to stem the leak and BG have drained, replaced all the valve, repleced the water circulation pump and refilled the system without any problems.
Thought I'd feedback.....
