No Hot water
I have just moved into an apartment with a pulsacoil 200 water heater (APC2025)
This week the red LED has come on twice, i called an engineer out the first time and he said because the system is in an airing cupboard it was too hot and the system was tripping. Today the red LED has come on again, and i can only assume it is the same problem, even though i have had the airing cupboard door open.
Would i be correct in what i am thinking? In which case i need to get the upgrade kit from gledhill.
Also as i am new to this system, am i correct in thinking that the timer is preset to come on at night by itself and the manual timings i can put in are for when i want it to heat up water at any other time apart from over night? The manual that came with the apartment was about as useful as an umbrella with holes in it!
Thanks
jaz

Re: No Hot water
No its ok in the cupboard.
TRipping what the consummer unit?
The unit should be on all night on the off peak 24 / 7
You use the boost or on peak if the heat has been used with in the unit.
A good electrician should be able to tell you what controls you have for the on and off peak.
Are you on E7 ?
TRy and get E10 which will give you 3 hours extra at off peak.

Possible overheating
If there is steam in the airing cupboard, most likely the system is overheating. Possible thermostat rod problems. Look at replacing these. If you are referring to the overheat stat tripping, check the water level in the unit. It maybe also worth requesting the self check Pulsacoil mini guide via this link: Pulsacoil 2000 Repair
