No hot water or heating.....help!
Hi all. I have a Boilermate 2ooo hooked up to a Halstead Best Db40 boiler. All has been fine until I checked the heating at the weekend in prep for the winter
The heating kicked in and all appeared fine. I turned it off on the timer and forgot about it.....until the heating kept switching on by itself irrespective of the wall thermostat or the switch on the timer. That was yesterday, today nothing works at all!
I took off the cover to reveal the ACB. The display at the top (next to the diagnostic switches) was blank and all 4 green LEDs were lit at the bottom. Carefully with a multimeter I tracked 240v into the board but with the heating turned on and the wall thermostat at full I could not get 240v back down the switch live to the boiler. I strapped across the full live to the switched live and hey presto the boiler fired (it only ran for a while so I am assuming there is some kind of safety cut out coming into play here)
Am I correct in assuming the board is knackered? If so where is the best place to buy a replacement, which one do I need and roughly how much will it cost? Are there any special instructions I need to follow installing a new board?
Finally we have young kids and no hot water, is there anyway I can rig the boiler (there is no emergency switch fitted) so I can at least bath the kids?
Thanks in anticipation (ps I'm in Somerset)

Sorry to tell you this, but this sounds like your PCB has giving up. So you need a new GT155 version 29/I Gledhill PCB for the BM2000. Do not verged to change the jumper from the old PCB to the new on in the correct order to get the new pcb recognising your BM2000. This is an easy job ,but the PCB is getting a bit deep in your valet. I guess £240 to £300 at independent dealer. Or go to SEGEL Gledhill Parts ( £254.05). Other option would be a refurb. There is one company i know, doing this near London. CET Ltd.( ~£85) but you have to send your old pcb in first or pay a deposit or so.
kind regards Master Mario
Re: No hot water or heating.....help!
Thanks Mario. I switched off the boilermate overnight and when I turned it on this morning this the boiler kicked in! The 2 bottom green LEDs were lit at the bottom of the board and the middle dash next to 'on' on the LED display. However as soon as I try using switch 1 and 2 to run the diagnostic everything cuts out and the 4 LEDs are lit at the bottom. If I turn off and on again the same thing happens. Is this the board on its last legs or something else? Thanks again
