30 seconds of hot water max Empty 30 seconds of hot water max

hiya!
i've just moved into a flat with a pulsacoil 2000, and i think it's not working properly.

i've set the offpeak timer for 6 hours (00:15-06:15) with a 'boost' from 06:30-07:30.
in the morning, when i try to take a shower, i only get about 30 seconds of hot water.

i've had a look at the unit, and the red LED on the control board is flashing twice a second (at first I thought it was once a second, but it's been twice a second since, so my eyes must've been playing tricks).
the green light is not on. the red fault light is not on either - although on closer inspection I think the red light has been knocked off/has exploded - there doesn't seem to be an LED there, and when I touched it I got an electric shock.

The reset switch near the control board (small brown button with cross on it) was out, so I've pushed that back in, but don't think it's made a difference.

I've taken the cap off the upper most immersion unit (i'm not sure if there is meant to be a reset button there?), and there is a tiny amount of water gathered at one of the screws. i haven't looked at the lower unit.

any advice?!

thanks!

Yes water means leaking heater.
May have gone into the bottom one to.
Check the supply is ok.
Check the rod stats and heaters.
Look for someone on here (list of advertisers)
And read through the posts ref your unit.
Lots and lots been covered before.

thanks for the response!

yes there's also some water gathered under the cap of the lower heating unit.
How do I check the rod stats and heaters, and supply as you suggest?

Am I right in thinking this means I will probably need two new heating units, and the fault LED replacing?

I'm also checking the rest of the forums, and will have a look for a repair person too.

Thanks again!

Well the top heater appears to be leaking.
So new one required along with new rod stat.
But the bottom one may be leaking to. Or is wet from the top one.
Bottom rod stat will be required.
But whilst draining down it would perhaps be better to renew both heaters and stats.
If looking for someone.
If people were to add their location when posting. Then perhaps offers from repairers would be forthcoming.
