Pulsacoil 2000 needs replacing
Hi
I have a Pulsacoil 2000 (approx. 11/12 years old) which gave up the ghost last night - the circuit board was completely fried and set off our smoke detector. I have been advised that the complete unit needs to be replaced, and have received three quotes so far. One was for a like for like replacement (described as a 180L Pulsacoil hot water cylinder). The other two companies have both said that the Pulsacoil is a complicated unit, and they would recommend alternative products - the Fabdec Thermacoil 175L, or some variety of Torrent (which I believe is also Gledhill).
I am trying to establish the following: a) that this products are appropriate replacements, and b) whether the comments regarding a less complicated unit are correct, and if it would be worth our while going for an alternative product.
Any advice would be much appreciated - I'm not very familiar with this type of system, having usually lived in places with GCH, and we only bought the place a couple of months ago so don't want to go wrong with our first major repair!
Thanks in advance for any comments or advice

Re: Pulsacoil 2000 needs replacing
Gledhill makes a stainless steel unit
PC ECO model
Near enough straight swop.
As for other make;
Check out warranties and servicing etc.
