Heat Plate Exchanger Empty Heat Plate Exchanger

Hi All,

Is it possible to descale a Gledhill heat plate exchanger? ( Gledhill Boilermate A-Class )
If so any idea what products work best for doing this?

Live in a hardwater area and am having to change the heat plate exchanger due to limescale every couple of years. Just wondered if I could descale and then re-fit save keep buying a new one everytime!

Thanks

Hi I use a descale unit / pump.

But a friend of mine use an acid drain cleaner for combi PHE's

I think it is call "one shot"

Be careful though.

Gloves and eye protection.

You have been warned.

Fernox DS3 is what I use in machine

Your area?

Mike

Thanks Mike.

I'll give it a try. How long do you run it through the machine for?

I'm based in Suffolk... hardest water in the UK apparently!
