Intermittant domestic hot water
Morning,
I'm getting intermittant domestic hot water supply. The HW store is hot and can be felt hot on store side of the mixer valve. However, the supply will sometimes be deliver to the tap or shower as tepid (as can be felt on supply side of mixer valve). Simply turning the supply tap off and back on will sometimes recover the hot water supply (hot either side of mixer valve).
Is this the mixer valve on its way out?
Many thanks in advance,
Dave

Faulty mixing valve
Hi
See other posts and mikes list of common faults.
One additional thought. Isolate mains cold water remove mixing valve check to see the condition of the filters on either side of the mixer valve. clean filters and mating faces, replace seals if in poor condition, Refit valve.
Second, reduce mains cold water flow rate, this may improve temp if pressure/flow high or exchanger scaled. If not the mixer seized. Replace.
Good luck Paul.

Re: Intermittant domestic hot water
Thanks for the reply.
Its an intermittant fault and most of the time its okay. BG coming to replace under the homecare policy but wanted to check whether thie blender valve is likely to be the problem or a 'shot in the dark'.
Cheers,
Dave
