No Hot water - green light is on and red light is off
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me please.
I woke up this morning to discover I have no hot water at all. I have looked through various websites and posts to try and establish what the problem could be myself, but i've had no luck - most of the problems seem to have the red led light flashing whereas mine isn't even on.
Few bits of background information:
- The boiler is approx 4 years old.
- The green light is on.
- The red light is off (no flashing - nothing)
- The small plastic grey tank on top is 3/4 full and water is cold
- The large tank is cold (usually very hot)
- The boiler/tank has been making some 'banging' noises for a couple of months - but i just assumed this was normal and was heating up the water - the tank is now silent.
If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem could be or a solution please could you let me know, the thought of a freezing shower is not appealling.
Any help would be great - as I would rather have some idea of the problem before having to call a plumber or technician for ££££
Thanx

Re: No Hot water - green light is on and red light is off
The absense of a flashing red light on the control board along with presence of the green light on the user panel is Bad News. Suggests probably a failed control board or possibly a failed fuse on the board.
The unit being cold is odd though. This suggests a separate fault. immersion heater failure or thermostat failure. Sorry but this is all sounding expensive.
Does the unit heat up if you use the 'boost' switch?

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your quick response.
No the boost switch does absolutely nothing.
The tank is getting electrical power as the light is lighting up - but otherwise its dead.
Expensive = not sounding good
