Systemate 2000 not communicating with Boiler?? Empty Systemate 2000 not communicating with Boiler??

Post  m77loy Thu Feb 03, 2011 2:54 am

Hi

I've got heating, it's fine, and hot water (now and again).

My system is 6 years old, it appears that I only have hot water when/after the heating is on and that I can have a tank of hot water but the thermal storage unit doesn't tell the boiler when it needs heat to top up the system. Even though the heating and hot water does work the power light on the Systemate isn't on....Is it a fuse/sensor problem? In practical terms for my wife to have a shower one after each other for for both to have hot water for the duration is rare!

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Steven

Got the book?
Page 32, section 2.
Then page 33 gives the fault codes.
Sounds like sensor or DHW pump.

Thanks for your reply mike

THere no fault code the display simply says 'On'...

Does pressing adjacent buttons bring up codes?

It would be nice to know if you have the book.
Then I know you can look at what I think it might be.
And to ensure you have carried out all the checks etc.
If no errors, then check the DHW pump is running when you turn a tap on.

Hi Mike

Yes I have to book, I downloaded it from gledhill repairs.

The bottom light of the three next to on comes on when hot water tap is on, does this mean the pump works ok?

You need to check the pump is running.
Take the big chrome screw out and insert finger gently to see if turning.
BUT
Even then it could be turning and the impeller is NOT spinning.
You may need to check that there is a supply at the pump to.
And then the voltage.
I've been on these units 3.5 years now.
It is my job.
It is not always easy for the diy person.
Have you looked on the home page for list of advertisers to see if any in your area?
Or Google for Gledhill repairer in your area.
