Hot water cured, now other questions Empty Hot water cured, now other questions

Hi all, thanks to this forum I diagnosed my hot water problem, replaced the Brawa valve, now all working fine thanks.

I've noticed that there's signs of leakage around the immersion heater, the usual furring up etc. Is this difficult to change, i.e. draining the system and refilling? Also, what is the correct treatment/protector to put in the system, do boilermates require a special type of 'Fernox' type product?

Thanks in advance.

Hi
to change the immersion, yes you have to drain the cylinder out / system. depending on the position of your Boilermate ( ground floor flat, yes all of the system water). The required immersion would be part number : XB078 ( the 14" immersion) or you can use an XB080 ( the 11" immersion) both will fit.
The tested and manufacturer approved treatment would be" Fernox MB1 Inhibiter" or you can use ,regards to your leaking Immersion, Fernox F4 Heating Leak Sealer , added just in to the F&E tank on the top.
Hope this helps regards

Hi Mario
Thanks for the reply. Will I still need to add an inhibitor or does the fernox f4 do that as well?

I would first go for the F4 , if there after the leak is sealed, go for 2 starches of MB1 ( in about 1 month after the F4)
