Hot Water, (lack of) Empty Hot Water, (lack of)

Post  gselectrical Mon Dec 16, 2013 11:32 am

Hello,

I went to a cylinder today, that has a problem with the hot water, run the tap at full flow it is luke warm,
restrict the flow and it is a great temperature

feeling the heat exchanger it is scalding hot at the top, but very cold at the bottom, on the right hand connections,
the pump is rotating.

any ideas what the fault could be? heat exchanger? air lock?

any help greatly appreciated

Hi
Have you checked the flow rate? Any exchanger can only give a, restricted to size, amount of heat to the passing water. Some arias have a 4 and up to 7 bar main pressure ( 35 to almost 60 lit/min), means the amount of water passing the exchanger is too match to get to a usable temperature ( page 33 in the manual). Could be, of course, also only a fired up exchanger. Hard water aria?
