Boilermate II Boiler pump running continuously
I replaced the boiler delay board again and pump still runs continuously, regardless of thermostat setting.
Is there any way of telling if the fault lies with the other board which is for summer occasional use to prevent pump seizing?
For this board, what teminals should be live and which not when pump should not run, and likewsie when it does run to prevent seizing?

All in the book

Boilermate II Boiler pump running continuously
I have the book, but it does not show which terminals should be live when pump is running for 1st 5 minutes and which should be live after the pump should shut down.
It also mentions a test link, but I cannot see it shown in anyu of teh diagrams.

Re: Boilermate II Boiler pump running continuously
The top board is the Pump drive board which runs every now and again to prevent seizing.
The bottom one is the delay timer board.
Terminals 2 and 3 on the pump drive should have a link.
Look at page 14 in the book.

Thanks for the advice. Found the link and did the test amomgst others.
I have now run the following tests.
First switch off clock overnight and pump stops could be in 4 to 12 hours.
TL (Thermostat Light) off, TD (Timer Delay) 4 is Live, PD (Pump Drive) 2&3 live
Removed link in Pump Drive, clock off or on makes no difference. Pump does not run. Book says it should every 10 seconds with clock off.
PD only 2 is live. TL off. NB Clock timer is a Potteron near the boiler and a floor below the Boilermate II
Replace link in PD & Clock off, TD 1&4 live, TD 2&3 Live, Pump stopped, TL Off
Switch on clock. TD 1,2&4 Live. PD 2&3 live. Pump running. TL on
Clock on, TL light goes off after boiler has run and thermostat operates. TD 1&4 live PD 2&3 live.
Pump keeps running until boiler has been off overnight with clock off.
Does that give you any clues?

Re: Boilermate II Boiler pump running continuously
Wow that was some info!
Never test with a neon screw driver ( just in case you did!)
Was the Potterton time clock fitted when the BM was or changed later?
Its not rare to find installed wrong.
I will go through what you have written a bit later.
But if poss check and double check all wiring is correct.
Mike.

Boilermate II Boiler pump running continuously
All original fitted.
except
Replacement Potterton Room Thermostat - like for like (faulty)
Replacement boiler overheat thermostat (was not the problem) so a replacemnet boiler PCB (something Potterton told fitter was a common fault for Potterton Suprema Boiler) Fault was boiler would fire once then not again unless manually reset. This fixed fault.
Gledhill replacement pump timer delay - had no effect on pump continuous running.
