No Hot Water
Hi
Having a problem with our boilermate 2000
The only way we can get hotwater is to have our central heating on very high over 22deg
Previous to this in the summer months heating has been off and we have had plenty of water on demand when needed, and has been like that for last 6 years
There are no leaks that i can see, the cistern is full, timer is perm on, LCD display shows "on"
Mrs is getting a bit peeved, ideas? or decent repair service for South Wales

Re: No Hot Water
Ok display shows "-on" when i take front panel off
When hot water tap turned on the display chages to "=on" and there is a slight buzzing noise but nowt that sounds like a pump working
Does that make sense?

Re: No Hot Water
Hi,
With the tap on check the far right hand side pump, remove the silver screw on the front and check that it is spining on the inside.
If the pump is spining then check the store temperature by pressing the sw2 button on the PCB board.
If the store is above 70 degrees then you will be looking at replacing the dhw / phe sensors.
If not come back to me.
Kind regards
Gary

Re: No Hot Water
took the middle silver large slotted screw out, small trickle of water then with tap on as i tightedned it back up could here water going through it
Checked temp reading says 85! is changing the dhw / phe sensors something easy to do or require a specialist? cost wise?

Re: No Hot Water
They are easy enough to do, cost about £30.00 each plus delivery, available from Segel or Keep the heat on.

Re: No Hot Water
Ah think i fig out.. is it the white lead coming from the left hand side of pump unit? Does water need to be off on install? will boiler reset or do i need to do anything once i have the new part? ie: will the 85 reading drop back down to 70?

Re: No Hot Water
Change both the dhw and phe sensor which are either side of the plate heat exchanger (white leads with Brass ends). turn the mains water off and have an old towel at the ready!
Turn the power off when changing them.
hope this helps
Kind regards
