Boilermate 2000 No Hot water from both normal and switch
Hi all,
Hope someone can give some advice on my problem with the Boilermate 2000. Thanks in adavance!
Got up this morning to find there was no hot water through the taps. Turned on the switch for hot water and still no joy. Tried the hot water and ch switch as well and still not hot water. Although it seems the CH is working.
Turned the boilermate off from the mains, waited out a bit and turned it on again. Noticed a loud clunking sound from the boilermate which lasted only a moment. Wasn't able to pinpoint whereabouts the sound came from but sounds like it something serioius. Did notice a rattle sound from it the night before but never thought much about it as it disappeared shortly after. Tried the taps again in normal mode and via the switch, still no hot water. Tried the CH again via normal and switch and that is working.
By this time I needed to head off to work so wasn't able to look into it further. Will check the pump and get those readings on the diagnostics panel tonight. Meanwhile will there be anything else I should be checking?
Thanks!!
Kitt

Re: Boilermate 2000 No Hot water from both normal and switch
Hi again,
Just checked the the temperatures when coming in back from work:
Store T1=65
PHE T2=85
DHW T3=32
Seems like T2 temps are way too high? faulty sensor?
I've opened the hot tap and checked the DHW pump and it is not spinning although the horizontal LED bar 3 'HW' on the LED display is lit.
Left it alone for about an hour to do more reading etc.
Came back to check on readings again and its as follows:
T1=74
T2=28
T3=22
Seems T2 readings has gone. Probably a more correct reading this time?
switched on the emergency switch to hot water. Hear the switch etc working followed by a heavy rattling clunking sound then stopping completely as if it just switched itself off. No hot water regradless. Turned the knob back to normal operations.
Checked the readings again straight after:
T1=71
T2=26
T3=48
Seems like the immersion heater works for a bit before shutting itself off.
Sensor most likely needs changing I presume at the very least. Pump is not working, will this be caused by the sensor or an actual pump fault? The worrying thing is the clunking sound when the eletric switch is used.
Many thanks in advance!

T2 85!!!
T2 on 85 is an error. This only means your DHW sensor is faulty. You need at least 1 new sensor , i would recommend to change both.

also no Hot water on switch
sorry, also 1. check the water in your top tank if empty , this needed to be 1/2 full, also your Hot Water Pump works on the switch as the boiler pump, 2. check if the pump is free and running if you have 240v on the pump ( may with a flying power cable).If not, new Pump required also or the Switch PCB or both !!!

Re: Boilermate 2000 No Hot water from both normal and switch
Thanks Mario.
Still haven't sorted this yet, been away the past few weeks.
I'll be ordering 2 new sensors as suggested. Already checked the tank and there is sufficient water present.
Did you mean the HW pump works on the switch pcb as well as the CH pump? As these are the only two pumps that seems to be wired to it.
I've checked the HW pump with voltmeter and there doesn't seem to be a supply to it when there's demand. Although it does not seem to be siezed either as it runs freely with a screw driver etc. Put 240v to pump as suggested and pump still not working even when there is supply.
Checked the switch pcb and it seems to have burnt out.
So as as well as the sensors, I will be ordering a new switch PCB and Pump. I believe I can get away with just removing the casing on pump and replacing a new motor pack etc on it without havint to change the whole lot?
Many thanks.
