Replacing Off Peak Immersion
The off-peak immersion heater on our Pulsacoil 2000 is leaking from the thermostat so I assume the sleeve that the thermostat sits in is corroded and that the immersion heater needs replacing.
Is this quite a simple procedure ?
Do I need to turn the mains water off as, as far as I'm aware, the cylinder is fed from the header tank on top and so not connected directly to the mains.
Thank you

From the header tank it is fed.
If you look through the posts there is info on changing a heater and pit falls etc.

Ok, thank you.
I can understand the principal of loosening the immersion thread before draining down but will water not then leak from the loosened thread ?

Re: Replacing Off Peak Immersion
Yes it will if you loosen it too much.
In fact too much and you will be soaked.
The idea is to move it as they can be hard other wise.
Do that when the unit is empty at your peril.

Just a little
Just a little turn not even 25o, this will not allow water to leak but too much force could damage the cylinder so have your drain off pipe ready.
