On Peak Switch Getting Heated Empty On Peak Switch Getting Heated

Post  Mukul Jain Tue Apr 01, 2014 4:35 am

Hi

The on peak boiler electrical switch was getting heated in my pulsacoil 2000 boiler. Plus I was getting a foul smell (as in case of a wire / rubber burning) from near the switch.
I called up a local electrician and when he opened the switch, one of the wires was burnt. He rewired it and checked the switch and said everything looked fine.
But even now, the switch is getting heated.
Does someone has any idea what can be the issue here?

Thanks in advance
Mukul

Could be a rod stat not switching off.
Some units have a relay too.
Needs checking out ASAP.

Hi Mukul

I had the same problem, in the end was a loose connection, the cable that connects the switch to the boiler was a bit loose on the boiler side,,, you need to remove the panel in the boiler and just make sure the screw that connects the cable is tight,,, obiously you need to switch off the unit when you do this,,,
