Re: pulsacoil 2000 will not fill even though the header tank is full
Interestingly this is a fault with the Pulsacoil 2000 that I've only just begun to encounter. I think it is a blocked internal cold fill pipe just like the (older) Pulsacoil III suffers from.
I've got around the problem by filling the appliance quite slowly by connecting a thin tube to the filling hose and inserting into the open vent pipe. It could also be refilled by attaching a hose to the drain cock.
Cheers, Mike

Trouble refilling
I encounted this problem after changing my immersion heater yesterday after refilling the tank which took a couple hours i thought it was full the f&e tank was full and the trickling noise had stopped so i left it overnight to heat up.
Come the morning both immersion were hot to touch but the heat exchanger was staying cold even though the pump was pumping after checking everything else out i opted to try topping up via the breather and filled it with at least another 12 litres after which everything worked fine.
Not sure if anyone else has had this problem after draining the system was very puzzling for a while.
Very hard to tell if the system is full but seeing as it pumps the hot water from the top of the heat exchanger and then back into the bottom its the only thing i could come up with that was wrong and it seems to of been the case.

It pays
Hi;
I find it pays to fill slow and steady.
Less air locks that way.
Also switch supply on for awhile then off.
This will help to clear some air.
Have on occasions had to vent the plate heat exchanger. ( top rear connection)
The Pulsacoil 2000 is configured inside but 2 copper cylinders ( more like oxzy bottles )
These are linked etc by copper pipes.
The cold fill is not straight forward as in pipe work size and shape and route the water flows to fill.
Once seen no wonder they are slow to fill.
I have had quite a few with sludge inside.
So inhibitor should always be used.
And perhaps sludge remover may help also.
Mike.
