hot water for 2-3 mins...please help Empty hot water for 2-3 mins...please help

Post  lilmeiow2004 Sat Dec 05, 2009 3:37 am

I have just rented a property and having issues with hot water system. The water system is Pulsacoil 2000 and connected with Newlec7 water heater controller. I have set the off peak time to 12:20am – 06:20 am and I can hear the water heating during this time. However, when i get up in the morning it just gives the hot water for 2-3 minutes, followed by lukewarm and finally the cold water. I have even tried booster but the result is the same. I have read in your forums that for this problem we must check the water level in the tank, which tank is it? In my case, there is a plastic water tank sitting on top of Pulsacoil 2000 and it is all dry and empty. Do I need to fill this water tank?

Yes!

I think you've already emailed me with the same question. Here is my reply for the benefit of everyone else visiting here:

Yes the plastic tank on top is the one that needs to be half full!

You will need to keep adding water to it until the level stablises at the ridge in the side about half way up. Probably three or four bucketsfull of water will be needed. Once the level has stabilised in the tank the HW will almost certainly work.

If not you'll need an engineer to visit and diagnose further.

Cheers, Mike

The most likely problem is there is no water in the header tank. Request the self check pulsacoil mini guide which will address this basic problem and others which relate to the problem you are facing. You can request this guide via the link below:
