boilermate ov a-class. Heating is constantly on

hello
please help me out.ive been looking on alot of different sites and havent spotted anyone with a similar problem as me. the heating is on constantly and will not turn off. the same happened last year but finally turned off when the weather warmed up. the boiler is in the integral garage. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Is the timer off for the heating?
Room stat down?
Is the heating pump running?
Checked the fault codes?

i have the same problem.the heating came on in the middle of the night and the only way it will switch off is via the c/h rocker switch set to off.the room thermostat doesn't do anything anymore but still makes a clicking noise when turned.i don't know if this is anything to do with the very cold weather we are experiencing at the mo being minus 13 in the evenings.
we have also suffered with scalding hot water and have to run the tap slowly to get half a bath of warm cloudy water.
we also live in a hard water area and have an ideal icos boiler attached which makes clunking noises quite regulary.
could you recommend anyone to sort it out in lincolnshire please.and what could be the possible causes.

Hi All,

I have been called to several customers with this problems, When visiting to fault find it is apparent that sometimes the units have fitted with a frost protection thermostat (Frost Stat), especially when boilermate is fitted in a garage and explains why it only happens during cold weather.

i wrapped the frost protection thermostat in a towel and hey presto it's working again, thanks gary,you have saved me loads of money just before christmas.i owe you a drink.

Just be aware that the frost stat is fitted for a good reason!

You don't want burst pipes due to them freezing!
