My power relay has burnt out. I ordered a new relay of the internet and installed it, everything is back working again but the relay is constantly hot even when ive got both programmers switched off and im worried it may burn out again. Has anyone experienced this before? any ideas?

Thanks

Ben

BOTH programmers??

But to answer your question most of these relays run hot, and then eventually melt/char/catch fire. Far better to take it out of circuit and fit dual function thermostats in the heaters. Then you don't need the relay or the separate overheat thermostat which controls it. Just wire heaters directly to the incoming power supplies like the final version of the Pulsacoil 2000.

Cheers, Mike.

Power relay burnt out Empty Burnt Out Relays

Post  KenTapping Tue Jul 13, 2010 6:09 am

My daughter has had the same problem with the off peak relay almost catching fire. It is now welded to the relay block and the associated wires are burn back by a few inches as a result I don't know how to repair it without taking the whole relay block assembling off and running in new wiring. The idea of 2 stage heater elements that can bypass the relays sounds liek a good solution. Any idea where they can be sourced and how to wire would be gratefully received?

Hello,

I have a pulsacoil 2000 and my power relay is burnt out. Any ideas where I could get one that wouldn't cost a arm and a leg? Please let me know I live in Grays Essex. any repairman that is nearby that could be recommended is highly appreciated too.

Thanks

Dave
