Gurgling noises Empty Gurgling noises

Hi,

Not sure if this has been covered in another topic but my Electra Mate keeps making noises, gurgling and soft banging noises. This noise isn't all the time but is pretty regular and for a decent amount of time. Usually in the evenings.

Just wondered if anyone else had encountered this before and if there was anything simple I could do to remedy it.

Thanks

Dawson

This banging could be due to expansion and the gurgling means there is air and water running through the system neither is good. Check that the vent screw is open on the top of the unit. if closed let the air out and then close it. If it is an open vented heater, is there sufficient water in the header tank. If it is sealed then check the pressure in the expansion vessel when the system water pressure is zero. There must be at least 1 bar of air in it, use a car tyre guage that you press on the valve to read the pressure. Refill the system to 1 bar using the filling hose, then turn off filling taps and remove the silver breaded hose.
Good Luck
