SHort bursts of hot water intially then just cold - plumber been trying to fix for months!- Help!
Hi,
We have a boilermate 2000 and our house is around 15 years old, in the past 9 months we have had the heat exchanger de-scaled, water pressure turned down as he said too much water was trying to get through too quickly and at the weekend a new pump fitted. We are now worse off than before!
The plumber we used is now saying it could be a number of problems and its a process of imlimation but we are paying and not getting anywhere.
We were having scoulding hot water when you initally turned the taps and shower/bath on then just cold. After the new pump was fitted we now just have a bit of luke warm then just cold. We dont have the heating on at all in the summer.
Can anyone shed any light on this and what we should do next as they are even suggesting buying a whole new boiler but I cant seem to understand why a house at 15 years old should struggle so much to get hot water!!?
Thanks
Hannah

Hi Hannah,
My suggestion to you would be to ditch your plumber and get a specialist in! You shouldn't need to replace the system, it is probably a sensor issue which is a cheap fix. Look on the home page for a specialist in your area.
Kind regards

Hi Hannah
I completely agree with Mark on this one. Your plumber obviously doesn't understand how the Boilermate 2000 works and is trying to fault find at your expense.
Get a specialist in and they will have it solved in no time.
