Where is the 'reset button' Pulsacoil 2000...Please help.
Hi,
After searching for hours on the net and reading the manual (dloaded from wesbite), I cannot seem to locate such thing as a 'reset button'. If anyone knows where this button is located please please please post it here ...i.e. its in the X place and is Y colour and Z shape...
There was no hot water recently and a site maintenance engineer fixed it & advised due to 'thermostat tripping out' and needing a 'reset'...Unfortunately the same has happened again today, since its a long weekend, I cannot call him.
If this is a job that requires a professional - am happy to call but if its something I can do safely - then happy to attempt. please help.
ANY/ALL replies are much appreciated
Thanks
Kevin

Pulacoil 2000 reset button(s)
Pulsacoil 2000 has a very simple circuit board in the top right hand corner.
just to the left is the rectagular relay and to the right is a bracket often with just a hole in it. If an older unit this bracket holders the reset button under a screwcover.
It has a copper capilary tube which leads to a temp sensor inside a 8mm copper tube which emmergises from the inside case.
If both the bracket and the sensor are missing and the wiring for it has been bypassed, the heater has been modified.
The bottom heater heats all the water the top one just tops up on dayrate if needed by manual switch on wall.
Both Immersion heaters have thermostats under the round lid.
Look carfully at the thermostat on it will be a reset button (tiny) and a dial of the operational thermostat (leave this set just below max)
Some of them have the word reset printed on them.
Use a torch and magnifine glass if need be.
press the red or white button in with a terminal screwdriver. If a reset is required an audible click will be heared, if not then the reset is fine, use a ohmmeter to check continuity of the stat.
To replace the thermostat buy a 7" immersion heater thermostat.
Remove and replace undoing and carefully refitting the conductors after sliding the stat into the dry pocket.
Thats it.

Re: Where is the 'reset button' Pulsacoil 2000...Please help.
Southampton Tech,
THANK YOU very much for such a detailed and prompt response. I couldn't find the reset button hidden under a scewholder near the top but I did manage to locate the tiny black buttons tucked away on two immersion heater round cups. The bottom one was in need of a reset as it clicked and I could hear water bubbling instantly.
The dial was on Max so I have reduced this now to slightly below max as advised.
A few months ago I had both immersion heaters replaced due to leaks and no water in the feed/expansion tank, so what could cause the stat to 'trip'? I know this could have multiple possible answers but thinking if it could be related to having the heaters replaced?
Once again, your help was much appreciated as I now have hot water again
Regards and keep up the good work

Pulsacoil 2000 requires reset daily - bottom heater
Hi Gledhill,
I did the reset on the bottom heater (little tiny black button on the immersion heater cup) as advised but it requires a reset every day otherwise the heater doesnt work with the timer.
What could be the possible cause of this?
Is the below a safe/correct sequence to change:
1) turn off pulsacoil from mains
2) Unscrew and remove the 'thermostat'?
3) replace with 7" thermostat?
4) fit&screw in?
5) restart boiler from mains?
Your response is much appreciated.
THanks
Kevin

Reset button
You have two black round plastic caps towards the bottom right of the unit
They have a nut on unwind the nut this exposes the underneath. The two small black reset buttons are probably under a sticker
Hope this helps

If the thermostat rod reset button keeps tripping replace it
If Adam is right and it is the thermostat rod tripping constantly, I would recommend you replace them. Be careful you do not buy the wrong 1. The part number for the right thermostat rod is XB081 and you can buy them via this link: Pulsacoil 2000 Spares
