No hot water, flashing red light
Hello,
I've been living in a rented flat for a while and the red light on the Pulsacoil A class boiler has always been flashing, apart from when the on peak button is pressed, and hot water has been produced. However, today I noticed that there is no hot water coming out of the tap and the red light is still flashing. We recently had a power cut to the whole building and was wondering if that would have been enough to break the system maybe?
If anyone has got any ideas or anything I can check/do before I try to contact my lettings agency that that would be great.
Many thanks,

Re: No hot water, flashing red light
The tank on top does have water in it, the water level is about an inch below the line formed by the molded plastic, so the tank is about half full. how much water should be in this tank?

Re: No hot water, flashing red light
Check the relays to see if they have burnt out. This is a common problem with this unit.

I've taken the front panel off but the relays/electronics look alright to me, no obvious burning/charring. On the printed circuit control board display, on display 2 the top and top left bars are lit and display 1 only the top bar is lit.
And there is a flashing light on display 2, flashing once per second in time with the red light on the external control panel.

Re: No hot water, flashing red light
Not sure how you are differentiating between display one and two, but if the flashing light is on the far right hand side of the display then it has locked out and needs resetting.
Have you a manual?

Re: No hot water, flashing red light
Display 2 is on the left hand side and Display 1 is on the right, with the flashing light on the left as you'd look at the PCB. So from the manual, the lights on indicate the S6 sensor calling, on peak supply present and DHW pump on, with the flashing light showing the system is running normal.

I can get access to one. What would I be looking to do/check with it?

Re: No hot water, flashing red light
Firstly to check the integrity of the immersion elements they should be reading 18ohms.
Secondly to see what voltage you are receiving at the immersions with the unit on.
What temperature is the display showing for Sensor 1?
Kind regards
