Fernox TF1 Filter : Where to fit on Boilermate II
Hi,
I would like to fit a magnetic particle filter. I understand that ideally it should be fitted on the return from the CH system but the only place where there is room is on the return from the boiler.
- the return from the CH system is too close to the floor
- the flow to the boiler is too close to the floor as well
- the pipes around the boiler are in accessible / buried into the wall
Is it OK to fit it on the return from the boiler (into the Boilermate) or is that less than ideal?
Thanks,
Sid

Return on the boiler is the normal place.
Why not just clean the system and add inhibitor.

Hi,
Yes I have already added 2 litres of Sentinel X-800 and let that swim around for a week before flushing out and adding inhibitor. I also detached and scrubbed out the header tank. I am going to install some TRVs this summer too so will flush out the radiators manually with a hose. I just wanted to add a filter for the extra protection. So fitting on the return from the boiler into the BMII is no good then?

Fit 2 one for boiler return.
One for heating return.
Check after 6 months.
After that yearly.
If they get blocked the performance will suffer.
