BM A Class 2016 Install. - Boiler pump constantly running.
Hey All,
I have a BM A Class 0v 180 that was installed by the previous owners in May 16 to repace an older faulty one.
The handover they gave us was leave both switches on constant rather than timed and just use the room thermostat to control the heating..
Upon looking last night at the wiring of the Nest Thermstats I noted that the boiler pump is running constantly even when there is no call for heating nor hot water.. I monitored it for a few hours last night and it ran constant. As it's a hybrid UPM3 pump type with LED on the front I can see that it was running at full capacity constantly.
I would have assumed as this is a thermal store that it would only run when it was called upon to fill the tank..
The wiring to be honest is a disgrace.. they have ran 4 lots of 3 core flex from the Power blocks into a enclosure that has the worst connector block nest I have evern seen and then got cables connecting into that from the original house wiring.. There is all 1.5mm and no the specified 6mm cable and the heating element is not wired up either..
So back to the Boiler pump running constant. Should this actually be runnign constant or not ?
Checking the sensors for Actual and then the point settings I have the following.
The book only shows upto s6 however.. so only the S6 one is way off which is the
S1 - ACT77 - SET77
S2 - ACT77 - SET77
S3 - ACT44 - SET44
S4 - ACT51 - SET50
S5 - ACT78 - SET78
S6 - ACT76 - SET56
S7 - ACT86 - SET86
Any ideas anyone ?

Well put in a call to the premium rate number and got some great help from Chuck on the other end..
Seems I have a error 29 and it coudl be software related.
They are sending someone out to check the wiring and look at the fault..
So far the assistance has been great other than the premium rate but will keep you updated...
Looks like I got a made to order unit as it has 12 digit serial number so good news there at least..

For me it's an ideal classic and yes.

The pump at the bottom left? Follow the wiring and make sure it plugs into the pcb

It does. new pump. But just looked at manual and if you read my previous posting you'll see that I have re routed the cold feed to the cylinder due to the existing one being blocked with crud. , am I reading that there is a wet temp sensor in that cold inlet pipe within the tank? If so I may have fucked it when trying to clear blockage before I decided to re route, what do you think?
