New Boiler for Boilermate II

Hi,
I have a Potterton Suprima 60 boiler with a Boilermate II, the boiler is 13 years old now and keeps cutting out so Im looking to buy a new one before the winter. I've had one quote recommending a Vaillant system 618 and another a Valliant open vent 28; both fitters knew I had a Boilermate but Ive read on the internet that system boilers are incompatible.
Im also wondering if the Boilermate is getting old now that I should just get rid of it as well.
Can anyone give me some advice please.
